Bianca & Anthony

We photographed Bianca and Anthony at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles on December 21, four days before Christmas, with the whole campus dressed for the season. Inside, twin holiday trees flanked the grand staircase, their lights caught in the brass rails, and crystal chandeliers glowed overhead like small suns. Bianca wore a green satin gown that answered the carpeted steps almost exactly, and Anthony, in a navy suit, could not stop looking at her.

From there we crossed to the steel curves of Walt Disney Concert Hall, where the winter light slid across the polished panels and threw the two of them back at us in soft silver reflections. They walked the narrow passage between the walls slowly, arm in arm, her gown blazing green against all that quiet metal. It is one of our favorite corridors in the city, and they treated it like a private hallway of their own.

We ended above the city as the sun dropped, with City Hall lit amber in the distance and the December haze turning everything gold. There was a kiss at the railing, a slow dance nobody planned, and a long quiet moment on the wide plaza steps beneath a towering Christmas tree. Winter in Los Angeles is subtle, but this evening was not, and we are still thinking about that green dress against the grey stone.
