Backwater Bliss in God’s Own Country

Kriti and Sujin chose one of India’s most enchanting destinations for their wedding — The Raviz Resort on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake in Kerala. Often called God’s Own Country, Kerala’s lush tropical landscape of swaying coconut palms, tranquil backwaters, and vibrant greenery created a naturally stunning setting that required almost no additional decoration. Nature itself was the decorator.

The Raviz Resort’s waterfront location offered truly unique photography opportunities. The couple’s pre-wedding portraits along the lake at golden hour, with traditional houseboats drifting by in the background, produced images of extraordinary beauty. The resort’s blend of traditional Kerala architecture — with its sloping red-tile roofs and wooden pillars — and modern luxury gave every ceremony space a distinct character.

The wedding celebrations were a beautiful showcase of South Indian traditions. The ceremony featured a traditional Kerala-style mandap with banana plants and jasmine garlands, while the bride’s stunning white and gold kasavu saree was a tribute to her roots. The reception transitioned to a lavish dinner featuring authentic Kerala cuisine — from sadya on banana leaves to fresh seafood — that delighted guests from across the country.
