Destination Wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, Rajasthan
In the sense of Big Fat Indian Weddings, Rachel and Karan set the bar incredibly high. This super-sized double wedding, which was held Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, contained twice the luck as well as twice the blessing.
It was apparent that this couple loves life and every moment that it brings to them. Rachel and Karan chose to get married in with both Hindu and Christian celebrations.
The Christian Church Wedding
The celebrations began with a stylish wedding in a Christian church. The wedding was followed by a magnificent reception held outdoors. This church wedding was gorgeous and elegant. The bridesmaids wore floor-length strapless dresses in blush pink. Rachel wore an A-line white wedding gown that was fully adorned with Chantilly lace. This dress paired with minimal jewelry, and Rachel was a vision of beauty.
Karan wore an ash, black three-piece suit accented with a striped baby pink tie and floral corsage. His ensemble matched the classy theme of the wedding.
That evening, the ceremony was followed by a truly grand reception. It was a picture-perfect formal dinner. The long tables were adorned with Chiavari chairs and floral centerpieces. Handsomely lit lamps were topped with an abundance of fresh flowers. This was definitely a dream reception. The bride decided to take things up a couple of notches with her jewelry, which was the perfect accent to her classic silk-satin V-neck wedding gown.
The Desi Wedding
After the Christian church wedding came the desi wedding. This celebration started with the captivating sangeet, which featured upbeat dancing, an abundance of swirling lehengas and of course the local Sufi singers.
Amazingly, Rachel pulled off the traditional red and gold flared lehenga just as well as she did the elegant white gown in the previous celebration. Her jewelry and makeup gave her the look of a true princess of the Jodhpuri palaces as she walked under a sheer red bridal chaddar to Karan as he waited with bated breath.
